Helen’s Heart – What is man…that you should set Your mind on him…every morning…every moment – Job 7:17,18. Francis Ridley Havergal was a talented and gifted poet who devoted her talents to God. The words of the famous hymn, “Take My Life and Let It Be” came to her in the night after leading ten people to Christ. Just before her death she finished a book with headings taken from that hymn – “Take My Moments and My Days; Let them flow in ceaseless praise.” Following her advice; as the Monday mornings roll along, we can commit the week to Him or closer to our grasp; the day, the hour, the moment. Remember He watches over you unceasingly and loves every moment, can we hesitate to give all our moments up to Him?
From the Pastor’s Desk – Every now and then I am sat on my tail by a quote or a Scripture that makes me ever more passionate in preaching the Gospel to lost souls as the time grows shorter until Christ’s return. This week it was the following quote by C.H Spurgeon, one of my favourite British Bible preachers of old – “The Holy Spirit will move (nonbelievers) by first moving you. If you can rest without being saved, they will rest, too. But of you are filled with agony for them, if you cannot bear that they should be lost, you will soon find they are uneasy, too. I hope you will get into such a state that you will dream about your child or your hearer perishing for lack of Christ, and start up at once and begin to cry, ‘O God, give me converts or I will die!’ Then you will have converts.” That quote of Spurgeon should jolt you as it did me. Once we become disciples of Christ, we surrendered our old life and now Christ calls us to His mission – the Great Commission! Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mar 16:16 “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. Let us be about God’s business, by serving Him and preaching the glorious Gospel of Christ without fear or favour.
Grace Giving – We have a container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving, or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Our greatest encouragement for giving is that it pleases the Lord. Let us worship Him as we give and remember that God was unsparing in His giving Proverbs 11: There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. 25 The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.
Seek to be made holier every day; pray, strive, wrestle for the spirit, to make you like God. Be as much you can with God. I declare to you that I had rather be one hour with God than a thousand with the sweetest society on earth or in Heaven. All other joys are but streams; God is the fountain.
Once the service has commenced, we ask that you please limit moving or having to leave your seats- the ushers will assist you, should you need to leave your seat, to return to a one located to the rear of the sanctuary to not distract others – thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji
We spoke to Pastor Charles on Thursday and he said to thank CCSH for its financial support, $500 per month and for praying for them in Fiji. They have 30 people living in their house with them – mainly young people. They asked us to pray for a new Bible study they have started in a new area as they teach God’s Word to hungry hearts. Fiji’s borders will hopefully open on the 1st of November to allow visitors to Fiji. Please pray for the government of Fiji to approve the formal registration of Calvary Chapel Nasinu!
