Daily devotion – Dieting
Dieting is a major issue today in the modern western culture. Many books and industries now operate purely on assisting people to manage their diet with the aim of living a healthy lifestyle.
But there are no programs as such on giving advice as to how to grow weak! It’s not difficult as such to become weak physically – all you have to do is stop eating and exercising yet no one in their right thinking would do such a thing.
However, why is it that many believers fail to see the connection between the weakness of our faith and our lack of spiritual food and exercise? Faith does not grow automatically; it requires spiritual ‘food’ for its nourishment.
It also requires exercise – seeing God work as we put it into action.
And if we don’t feed and exercise our souls, we should not be surprised when our faith grows weaker and weaker.
The Bible tells us that “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.” – Romans 10:17
This week wake up to a healthy meal of God’s Word and then put that Word into action by exercising God’s wisdom and guidance in every matter of your day.
You will find yourself growing stronger and able to make the right decisions when they arise!
