Daily devotion – My grace is sufficient for you!

Pastor Keith   -

God’s grace is truly amazing – grace meaning unmerited favour! But this grace is simply not just for our salvation. God’s grace is to be tapped into every moment of our walk with God.

The Lord said to Paul, when Paul was going through a painful and difficult time spiritually, “My grace is sufficient for you.” 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Remember that powerful and wonderful prayer of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane? Probably the most wonderful and moving prayer ever uttered. Jesus asked that the cup of crucifixion, which was about to be thrust upon Him, might be taken away.

But then in the very next breath Jesus said, “Nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” – Matthew 26:39.

What a prayer! What strength! What sacrifice and power!

When Paul asked God to remove his “thorn in the flesh,” God did not remove it, but said instead, “My grace is sufficient for you.”

Paul did not complain as so many ‘consumer’ Christians seem to do today. Neither did He become angry at God, instead Paul joyfully submitted to God’s will. Paul discovered that God’s grace truly was sufficient, even in the midst of his pain.

Maybe you this moment are in such a situation as Paul. Know this, Jesus Christ desires to be with you in whatever crisis you are in. Today call upon His name. See if He will not do as He promised He would.

He may not make your problems go away, but He will give you the power to deal with them and to overcome them – by His grace!
