Daily devotion – stop and give thanks

Pastor Keith   -

We have been looking at Christ’s Second Coming in our journey through the Gospel of Luke. How different His Second Coming will be compared to His first?

Jesus first coming happened just about unnoticed. A few shepherds and later some wise men! Jesus born in a small out of the way little town called Bethlehem, placed in a manger with only animals and the visiting shepherds to greet Him that first Christmas night.

But Christ’s Second Coming will be vastly different. For the Bible tells us that “every eye will see Him.” – Revelation 1:7, and He will come with glory and power to establish His Kingdom of perfect justice and righteousness.

No one will dismiss Him this time and all will acknowledge Him as King of kings and Lord of lords.

But a more important question is how do you receive Him today? Many people at His Second Coming will be caught unawares and then it will be too late as they will have wasted their living as in those in the days of Noah and the time of Lot. Too busy with their own lives to make any room or thought for He who suffered and died on the Cross at Calvary for them.

Let us not be one’s to neglect our saviour’s first coming for the Bible tells us that He came to save us from our sins – Jesus!

Mat 18:11 “For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.

Today, stop and give thanks to He who created you – for He is the Almighty God, but most of all, He is your saviour!
