Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift – 2 Corinthians 9:15
Paul warned us that in the Last Days one of the signs of that time would be ….people will be lovers of themselves….ungrateful..2 Timothy 3:2.
This is so true of today’s society and an apt description of the time we live in. Rather than being grateful, people get wrapped up in their own importance. They take for granted what others do for them. It is not unusual to be in a discussion with someone and that person boast unashamedly about their talents and abilities.
Humility has nearly all but disappeared and arrogance and self-promotion are now the mode of operation.
But when I come to the foot of the Cross, in that position there is no capacity at all to think of oneself highly when it is our sin and selfishness that our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died for.
It is when I move away from the Cross that one finds oneself becoming ungrateful.
Our Lord Jesus Christ has given to us everything we have – even our very breath of life. Are we truly thankful?
Most of all, God sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world to die for us. Have we responded by thanking Him for His love, and giving our life to Him?
Stop yourself the next time you start ‘highlighting’ yourself and change the narrative to giving praise to God for how He is bringing blessing into your life.
To God be the glory.
