Daily devotion – Heaven
Heaven is real. It’s the place Jesus said He went to so He could prepare a place for us. A place where we would dwell with Him forever!
Jhn 14:2 “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Jhn 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
Preparing for Heaven is much like going on a journey. First of all, you must choose you want to go there. Then, you must pay for the ticket that will get you there.
But with Heaven, how will you purchase a ticket to get there? Can you get one with the price of being a good person? Or is the price of the ticket going to Church and acting religious? Is that what you have to do? Or giving money or volunteering to be kind and helping others?
The Bible tells us none of these will suffice, because the ticket to Heaven is expensive – far too expensive for any human being to afford.
Does that mean we can never go there because we can’t pay the price? No – and the reason is because Someone else has already purchased the ticket for us. That person was Jesus Christ, and the price He paid was His own blood, shed on the Cross for us!
Today Jesus offers us the ticket to Heaven free and fully paid! Why refuse it? Why try some other way? His invitation is still open – “Come! Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.” – Revelation 22:17
“The Lord will…..preserve me for His heavenly kingdom.” – 2 Timothy 4:18
I cannot wait to open my eyes in Heaven and see what Jesus has prepared for me.
