Daily devotion – Jesus is coming…

Pastor Keith   -

Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our ..Savior Jesus Christ – Titus 2:13

It was the reality that Jesus Christ is coming back that was at the very heart of my coming to Jesus Christ in 1977. I knew the Bible was God’s Word, I knew it to be true even though I was not living it at the time. But within my heart was this absolute awareness that Jesus was coming back, and the tragedy was that I did not know Him. Would I be deceived by false Christ’s? The Holy Spirit used this to drive me to a knowledge of Jesus and for Him to become my personal Saviour.

The first book I read in the Bible after salvation was the Book of Revelation in conjunction with the Gospel of John. For me, the Book of Revelation was the book for the day in which we lived. It was unfolding before our eyes. It is the Bible now!

Ever since that day when Helen and I both gave our lives to Jesus Christ on a Tuesday evening, we have both lived in eager anticipation waiting for Jesus soon return.

One of the best ways to be rid of discouragement is to remember that Jesus Christ is coming again. To know that what is happening in your life right at this moment is not going to last forever.

For Helen and I, the most thrilling and wonderful truth in all the world is the coming again, the return of Jesus Christ back to our world.

Are you aware that the Bible is the only book in the world that reliably predicts the future? The Bible is more up to date than tomorrow’s newspaper. It says the consummation of all things shall be the coming again of Jesus Christ to this earth.

This truth also gives us great hope – but it should also sober us and make us more diligent now in how we live. For we know not the day nor the hour of His return.

Believing in Jesus soon return does not make us less concerned about this world; it makes us more concerned, because we know time may be short.

Now is the time to live for Jesus Christ and to witness for Him.

He is coming….ready or not!
