FRIDAY – 6:00PM – CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE

This Week at CCSH – Welcome to CCSH today. We invite you to join with us for prayer this morning before the service, especially the men. Also, this Wednesday evening, the last evening before Christmas, you are encouraged to gather with us for prayer, as we intercede for all the families that attend CCSH for a safe and blessed Christmas. We encourage you to be early for our Christmas Eve service this Friday which starts at 6:00 pm sharp to be sure you have a seat. We look forward to you inviting family and friends to join with you for our special Christmas Eve service. There will be a children’s program and the opportunity for you to have your Christmas family photo here with us on the night. Due to the additional children’s program and expected numbers, please see Pastor Nathanael if you can assist with the kids’ program, and Thomas Woodage to help serve in other areas that will need support on the evening. For those who have family overseas or in other states, let them know about our live streaming service for Christmas Eve. See Pastor Marlon for assistance in how to connect if you are not sure. On boxing Day (Sunday), we will be having our Sunday morning service as usual but there will be no evening service on Boxing Day!

Helen’s Heart I wait for You O Lord; You will answer – Psalm 38:15 The closer Christmas mayhem draws near, we can feel the tension. It is hard not to be drawn into the pace and panic of the last-minute rush. We need to heed the gentle checks, that gentle pressure upon our heart and mind: that still small voice. Obey this voice, listen obey and trust God – He promises to make “all things work together.” If you are under stress, seeking the way to go, chartering troubled waters – obey even when He asks you to move in the dark and wait, patiently wait – God is never late.

From the Pastor’s Desk Gather your family, or if you are by yourself, take time this week to read the Christmas story in both Luke and Matthew’s Gospel. Pray before you read them and ask God to enlighten your mind to be able to imagine and picture the scenes. Often, we simply glaze over these beautiful passages Scripture like that of the angel speaking to Mary – how must that have been for her? Mary sharing the news with Joseph – how difficult and emotional that would have been. Imagine the discussion, the expressions. The long uncomfortable journey for a very pregnant Mary only to arrive at Bethlehem with no room to stay. The shepherds gathered around their fire at night and suddenly the sky lit up with a host of angels singing! How unusual a scene for people who spent all their time out in the fields watching over sheep. Picture the shepherds faces after they had run into Bethlehem to find and eventually to look on the face of He who was born King! This is the season of Christmas, the most beautiful and amazing story of the birth of our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. With all the trimmings in your mind, imagine the cold night air, the smell of the stable and the straw, the face of our Lord – the Creator of all things, the Almighty God, with skin on, and tiny, small hands, fingers and feet. Read these passages slowly, immerse yourself in the Christmas story and you will be blessed!

Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji Pray for God to bless the fellowship of – CC Nasinu – that they have a blessed Christmas and that many would come to Christ.

Grace Giving – We have a container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving, or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Our greatest encouragement for giving is that it pleases the Lord. Let us worship Him as we give and remember that God was unsparing in His giving 2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Once the service has commenced, we ask that you please limit moving or having to leave your seats- the ushers will assist you, should you need to leave your seat, to return to a one located to the rear of the sanctuary to not distract others – thank you for your assistance in this matter.
