Daily devotion – the beginning of a new week

Pastor Keith   -

The strength and maturity that is found in consistency is a wonderful character and blessing in the Christian life. In biblical terms, consistency is a subtle thread woven into the fabric of Scriptural truth.

Paul told a young Pastor named Timothy – “Be ready in season and out of season…” 2 Tim 4:2

He said to the Church in Galatia – “let us not lose heart…for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.” Galatians 6:9

James saw consistency as a stabilizing trait, one of maturity which he called…., “endurance. And Let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect…” James 1:3-4

An example of someone who was consistent in the things of the Lord is Abraham. It says of Abraham…, “he did not waver…” Romans 4:20

But the best role model for you and I to follow is that of our Lord Jesus Christ. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

Where do you fit in that of consistency?

How is your prayer life?
Your reading of God’s Word?
Are you consistent in fellowship with God’s people?
Do you serve the Lord with a thankful heart faithfully?

People strive to be successful in today’s world and yet expect immaturity, a lack of dedication and endurance to not affect the outcome of such a goal.

This week – be like Abraham, Paul, and our Lord.

Be faithful and consistent and give all the glory to Jesus!
Be consistent in your walk with God, sharing the Gospel, and loving God’s people.

Be consistent in your marriage, in your role as a parent, as a respectful and faithful son or daughter.

Consistency – is a jewel worth wearing, an anchor worth weighing, a thread worth weaving and a battle worth winning.

Its a time to cast aside childish behaviour and to grow up in the grace and strength of the Lord.
