What does it mean to be created in His image?
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
People today are looking everywhere and anywhere to seek to identify who they are. But is it not logical to go to He who alone created us in the first instance?
If your watch were out of order, you would not take it to the local garage mechanic. If you car needed overhauling, you would not take it to a watchmaker. If you needed an operation, you would not head down to the local butcher.
Our spiritual problems can only be solved by the God who created us originally. He created us in His own image and likeness and He knows all about us, down to the finest detail. But more than that, He loves us.
Today by the grace of His Son Jesus Christ, He can re-create us in the likeness of His resurrection. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we are born again, recreated and become partakers of His life. Just as we were born again by the Spirit of God, so we can grow and become more like Jesus Christ as the Holy Spirit works in our lives.
“Therefore, if anyone (you and I) is in Christ, he or she is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
Do not be chained to the past. Instead, know that you are a new creation in Christ – made in His image!
