Coming Events – We will be celebrating Communion for the first time in 2022 and will have a special message, the last of Jesus 7 statements from the Cross, “Father into Your hands I commend My Spirit!” With the commencement of the New Year 2022, we encourage you to seek to serve in a number of ministries that constantly need people with godly hearts, a love fort Christ’s people, and a passion to faithfully serve. Such as Sunday school teachers and helpers, ushers, security, cleaning, coffee, just to name a few. Each of these positions require people who love the body of Christ here at CCSH. Don’t forget, if you have not been baptised, and desire to fulfil Christ’s example, place your name on the baptism sign-up sheet at the information desk. Lastly, the CCSH board have met in regard to the location of the proposed extension of classrooms, youth room and additional offices to come off the southern end, (car park) of the existing structure. Please keep our Building and Maintenance Director, Reece De Jonge, in your prayers as he oversees this exciting building project. Our Pastors and Elders are available to pray with you after each service at the front of the sanctuary and we encourage you to avail yourselves of this prayer today.
Helen’s Heart – ‘And so this is Christmas and what have you done?’ Is the line of the famous song often chorused by many at this time of the year. But John Lennon got it wrong, we need not focus on what we have or have not done but what “He” has done. Almighty God stepped from the throne and lived among us and died and rose again so that we would live forever. For God so loved ….that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life – John 3:16. May you have celebrated the wonder and miracle of this amazing love at Christmas time and for all time. O that men would praise the Lord for His goodness…Psalm 107:8
From the Pastor’s Desk – Leadership, in any form in the body of Christ comes with added responsibilities and accountability. As a Pastor, God holds me doubly accountable before Him and He will judge my serving Him with an increased measure that comes with holding such a position. But in reality, this is for all positions, when a person fills any other leadership role also. Christ Himself said that He would bring judgment to any who would cause a little one to stumble. The children, youth and adults that call CCSH home, look to these our leaders for an example to follow. So, you just can’t teach, lead, instruct, or oversee and not also be an example in your personal devotion to Christ, because little eyes especially are watching. Therefore, if you are looking to lead in any capacity in 2022, as Jesus says, count the cost before you go to battle. We pray and expect that those who lead here at CCSH, will also provide a sure foundation in their devotion and personal commitment to Christ, in order to be the leader God would have fill any position at CCSH. Let us who assume such roles give due diligence to our own devotion to Christ in our prayer, study of His Word, and commitment to His body so as to ensure in 2022, we like Moses, Joshua, Caleb and others..can truly say, “as for me and my house we will serve the Lord…..!”
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji Our carton of new Bibles has just reached the shores of Fiji– CC Nasinu – soon a local Fijian will be able to have their own personal Bible because of your grace giving here at CCSH. Let us see this continue throughout the coming New Year!
Grace Giving – We have a container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving, or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Our greatest encouragement for giving is that it pleases the Lord. Let us worship Him as we give and remember that God was unsparing in His giving 2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
Once the service has commenced, we ask that you please limit moving or having to leave your seats- the ushers will assist you, should you need to leave your seat, to return to a one located to the rear of the sanctuary to not distract others – thank you for your assistance in this matter.
