Wednesday 7:00 pm – Prayer for Ukraine
Coming Events ––We continue to pray and seek God’s intervention and power rest upon the people of Ukraine. We pray for the people of Russia who are against this act of genocide being carried out by Putin. We ask that you sense the call of God to each of us today to pray and to be the Church that makes a difference! This morning as we gather together for Communion, may we remember the very power of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who defeated the most powerful enemy of humanity – Satan, by dying on the Cross of Calvary and freeing those held captive by sin and death. Let us remember this morning Christ rose from the dead. Let us look forward to His soon return. Let us live now as His Church, bringing the power of prayer and influencing change in a dark world – especially for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine and Russia! Parents as of last Thursday, 3rd March, children from year three up must wear mask indoors. Could you please assist us today and the next three weeks following. We pray that this is only a short-term requirement but until then your assistance will be greatly appreciated. This week we sent off a donation of $5,000 to the Samaritans Purse International Aid people to be used for the people of Ukraine to fund a DC-8 cargo plane supplying hospital equipment, generators, flooring, logistics, and set-up personnel, as well as doctors and nurses. Once the plane lands in Poland, the field hospital will then be transported overland to Ukraine where it will provide specialised trauma care to people impacted by the conflict. The field hospital is equipped with 30 beds, an operating room, an ICU, an emergency room, a pharmacy, and it has its own water and sanitation. As many as 100 patients a day can be seen at this hospital, and it will be operated by more than 50 staff (medical and non-medical).
From the Pastor’s Desk “First they came for the Communists, And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the Socialists, And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me, And there was no one left. To speak out for me.”- First They Came by Pastor Martin Niemöller – I continue to be saddened by the lack of physical help governments from the west are giving to the people of Ukraine. In addition, NATO denied once again closing the skies/airspace over Ukraine which was requested by Ukraine, to halt the rockets and missiles constantly bombarding the civilians of Ukraine. This week we gathered in prayer and there were more than the usual numbers which was a great blessing to see. We are not to look for help from governments or politicians, the psalmist reminds us where our help comes from. Psalm 121: 1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. God is wanting His people, His Church to look to Him at this time and to see His might and power before us.
Helen’s Heart – If My people shall humble themselves and pray…then will I hear from heaven…and heal their land…1 Chron 7:14 These distressing times can bring us down, overwhelm us as our hearts break to see the atrocities of this war on Ukraine. “Down” is probably the best position for us at the moment, as “down on our knees” in prayer to our omniscient, omnipotent God is the way to hope. We can look up unto Him who has the power to overcome – He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. Let’s continue to pray for this troubled country and give God the glory!
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji Keep this blessed Church and God’s work in Fiji in your prayers.
Grace Giving – We have a container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving, or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Our greatest encouragement for giving is that it pleases the Lord. Let us worship Him as we give and remember that God was unsparing in His giving Pro 3:9 Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.
Once the service has commenced, we ask that you please limit moving or having to leave your seats- the ushers will assist you, should you need to leave your seat, to return to a one located to the rear of the sanctuary so not distract others – thank you!
