Daily devotion – Real Christians
Just what is a Christian? The word Christian actually means “a partisan for Christ”. It means that you have chosen Christ and are following Him. Partisans are not neutral – they are totally committed!
When someone asks you: “Are you a Christian?” I mean a true Christian, a real Christian. The old Australian vernacular – are you a ‘dinkum’ Christian captures the essence of what we are talking about. Many people today have a wrong concept of what a Christian is. They say, “A Christian is someone who prays” or “A Christian is someone who lives by the Golden Rule.”
But praying or living by the Golden Rule does not make someone a Christian. A person may be sincere, but that does not make him or her a Christian either.
The real question is – “Have you committed your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour?”
Jesus said…. Mat 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Today the world is looking for the real Christian so that they can meet the real and true God.
Will you, and can you stand up and say, “Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour.” People are looking for real Christians right now!
