Daily devotion – Planned

Pastor Keith   -

It’s nearly Palm Sunday, the day we gather to celebrate Jesus glorious entry into Jerusalem where for the first time Jesus allowed the crowd to exalt Him in a true public display of emotion. I am always interested how much prior preparation Jesus had undertaken before this glorious event.

He had arranged for a colt and its mother to be ready for Him to ride, which had never been ridden before. All the disciples had to do was go to the location that Jesus had provided, and there say, “The Lord has need of them.”

Just as Jesus said, the disciples found the animals where they expected.

In addition, when the religious leaders asked Jesus to quiet the crowd shouting out, “Hosanna to the Son of David”, Jesus revealed His total control of the day’s events, by replying to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”

Jesus’ control and direction of all these events, continuing through His arrest and eventual crucifixion beautifully tells us that God was  in control of everything He created.

This should lead us to never panic, to place our absolute trust in God as He guides our lives in every step.

Your view or outlook on Easter should be one of stepping back a little to see the handprint of Almighty God beautifully working towards our salvation – simply amazing!

Let us not see Jesus as another martyr, or someone controlled by evil men.

His entry into Jerusalem was planned before the foundations of our world were even laid.
