Daily devotion – tell your story of Easter

Pastor Keith   -

2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Easter, it is all about the Cross and Christ’s Resurrection from the dead.

As we view the Cross of Calvary, the Cross reveals how much God loves us. For on that cruellest of deaths by crucifixion, our sinless Saviour took on Himself the sin of the world.

The Bible tells us that “God made Him…..to be sin for us.” – Isaiah 53:4  “Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! 5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. 6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all.
10 But it was the LORD’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the LORD’s good plan will prosper in his hands.”

The sins of the world, yours and mine, whilst they were placed upon Him, it was God’s plan also to give us Christ’s righteousness in place,  to those who trust in Him.

Rom 5:17 “For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.”

But this gift of righteousness is obtainable only by faith.

This Easter week do not be distracted by anything that would take your gaze away from Christ’s death on the Cross for you, His becoming the sacrifice for you, and His resurrection being the proof that you too will have now life everlasting because of what He has done.

Easter says it all. Maybe we could this week take all that Easter says has been done for us and tell someone else that it’s been done for them as well.  If they would by faith too, come to call Christ as their Lord and Saviour!

The story of Easter never grows old. Let your story not be left to grow old – share it!
