Daily devotion – lies
There are times when we believe the lies of the Devil. Sometimes we believe it when he says God does not love us. Or that we are too sinful to become a Christian. Satan cannot help but lie considering he is the “father of all lies.”
But there is one lie in particular that we as Australians believe which is most distressing. Satan often tells us that Australian’s are harder than any other people to accept the gospel or be interested in the gospel.
But we need to always go to the truth of the Word of God – that is that the gospel is the power of salvation….to all nations and people.
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world, including Australians.
The Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword and it penetrates every heart no matter what nationality.
Therefore, you son or daughter, your mother, father or friend can come to know Christ. Human hearts are the same the world over – in rebellion against God, suffering from the disease of sin and dying….until they discover the simple truth of God’s love for them in Jesus Christ.
The problem is not in them being hard of heart more than anyone else. The trouble is that we hesitate or even are remiss in giving them the Gospel in the first place.
This week, let God’s Word lose and share the Gospel and take no notice of the lies of the enemy.
