Daily devotion – to know His wisdom
Pro 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Godly wisdom produces behaviour that is morally pure and modest.
If you question whether something us rooted in earthly wisdom or divine wisdom, take a look at the outcome! Take a look at the fruit. Those things that are based on earthly wisdom result in being at odds with one another, confusion about what is right or wrong, and all forms of evil behaviour.
Earthly wisdom is doing what comes naturally – and sadly what comes naturally to unredeemed mankind is what satisfies the senses, feeds human pride, and promotes greed. Earthly wisdom can never rise above man’s fallen nature.
Godly wisdom is doing what the Holy Spirit compels us to do. It results in what is pleasing to God and ultimately, what is beneficial to man.
You and I must choose each day where we will seek wisdom. For Godly wisdom, we need to invite God to lead us to His way and His plan.
So we must each day ask ourselves the following:
– Is this a wise decision?
– Is this a wise use of the gifts, skills and resources that I have?
– Is this a wise action to take in a relationship?
– Is this a wise way to live out the purpose God has for my life?
As we seek God’s wisdom with these questions, we must then listen for God’s response…., “Lord, I am listening, please guide me now and give me your answer on what I should do…..”
Pro 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
