Daily devotion – daily power!
Mat 14:23
And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
It’s nearly time to head off for Wednesday night prayer meeting as I write this devotion. This is the moment the Church gathers to do its most important work, to pray!
Prayer is the key to so much – but the best way to see this in reality, besides praying, is to examine the life of Jesus when He walked this world. Every morning, every evening, at funerals, at weddings, at meals, at miracles….Jesus prayed.
The night of His betrayal, He prayed and He prayed and He prayed!
The modern Western Church has a lot of ‘bells and whistles’ in this modern age of technology that requires an enormous amount of electrical power to operate.
But the most powerful part of the Church – the power of prayer is being neglected and thus we have a powerless Church.
For it is the power of the Holy Spirit that empowers the Church and the channel by which this power is gathered and released is in prayer.
I look forward to seeing you as we gather each week in prayer, midweek and prior to our Sunday morning service and you will see the power of God released like never before – when you pray!
