Daily devotion – define what our mission is.
Eph 4:1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,
The way we live and conduct ourselves in the world speaks far louder than words. People can tell us they don’t believe in God or the Bible, but they are unable to deny God’s power as they see it change our own lives before them and guide our every decision.
We sometimes take on the role of ‘world policemen’ with all that we ever speak to those who don’t know Christ being words of correction. Yes, our role as believers is to live as salt and light but how we do this is by living the Christian life before those who don’t know Christ.
It’s the old saying – how do you tell if a stick is crooked? You place it next to a straight one!
Our task is to proclaim the Gospel, not to police the unbeliever. We can still stand for righteousness and speak of what the Bible says on matters. But the role of judgment sits with the Lord and He will carry out His righteous judgment perfectly at the time required.
Therefore, let us concentrate our words, our discussions with those outside of Christ, on the Gospel. On the Cross of Jesus Christ and His sacrificial love for all those who have sinned.
The next time you are in discussion with non-believers, share the Gospel, keep the main focus of all that you speak on the wonder of Jesus Christ.
Paul taught us, 1Co 1:17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
1Co 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
We have the greatest story ever to tell.
Preach the Gospel – for it is the power of salvation to all those who believe.
Let us be sure of what our mission is and leave the rest to Christ!
