Daily devotion – God found you.

Pastor Keith   -

A leader from the Church of Scotland said to Hudson Taylor at one time as the work in China had seen the blessing of the Lord – “You must sometimes be tempted to be proud because of the wonderful way God has used you. I doubt if any man living has had greater honour.”

Hudson Taylor’s reply was amazing. He said, “On the contrary…I often think that God must have been looking for someone small enough and weak enough for Him to use, and God found me.”

The Apostle Paul reminds us of just who God chooses – 1 Corinthians 1:27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.

The most wonderful thing of it all is that God actually chooses us to serve Him and be the channel through which He works.

This is why whenever God uses us to share Christ with someone or uses us in some other way, we should always count it a privilege, but more than that, we must make sure that we give Him the glory for any blessing that comes from our serving Him.

Hudson Taylor had it exactly right did he not? Somehow God found you and I, someone small enough and someone weak enough, to show His glory and strength.
