Daily devotion – No surprises
Isaiah 43:9
Let all the nations be gathered together,
And let the people be assembled.
Who among them can declare this,
And show us former things?
Let them bring out their witnesses, that they may be justified;
Or let them hear and say, “It is truth.”
God declares in His Word that He alone is able to predict the future. That there is no one else who can do this!
This brings to us great comfort and confidence. It means that God, who is also all knowing, ever present, all powerful, is never surprised by anything.
I have found this a great joy to counter worries when they arise and lay them against the Bible’s promises to us, especially of His great love for us. God loves us and no matter what happens to us, He never abandons us. We know this because Jesus Christ demonstrated God’s love for us by giving His life for our salvation.
Our world is in ongoing upheaval, things are changing before our eyes that constantly shock us and we wonder how far things can spiral down. But God is fully aware and in charge.
Today’s West Australian Newspaper carried an article where schools want ‘non-religious’ chaplains which I find a complete oxymoron. The attack on Christianity is relentless and we are surely living in the Last Days and Christ’s return for His Church is closer than ever before in our world’s history. But we have work to do until that moment!
You and your faith in God’s Word and His sovereign truth is under attack with the definition of marriage and family being dissembled before our eyes.
But God is fully aware of all that is happening and going to happen. Nothing we experience ever catches God by surprise or is too big for Him to handle.
Even when our day seems dark, God never leaves us, nor does He allow anything to come our way that can overwhelm us.
We are safe in His hands and secure in His love.
“From everlasting to everlasting, the Lord’s love is with those who fear Him.” – Psalm 103:17
