Daily devotion – transforming our minds

Pastor Keith   -

Romans 12: 1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Our minds are amazing things as I have said before. If the world controls the way we think we are conformers. But if God by His Holy Spirit and His Word controls our thinking, we become transformers. Not like in the movie type ‘transformer’, half machine,  but like new creatures, new people living for the glory of God.

If we copy the fashions and behaviour of the fallen world, we become a cheap imitation.
But when we let God transform us we become fresh and new creations of His being moulded into the image of His Son.

God transforms our minds and makes us spiritually minded by speaking to us through His Word. As we spend time meditating on God’s Word after we have read and heard it, memorizing it, and making it a part of our inner selves, God will gradually make our minds more spiritual.

2Co 13:8 For we cannot oppose the truth, but must always stand for the truth.

We surrender our wills to God through disciplined prayer. As we spend time in prayer, we find ourselves surrendering our will to God and pray, with the Lord, “Not as I will but as You will.” – Matthew 26:39

We are to pray about everything, and let God have His way in everything!

This week I pray that God’s Word and His Holy Spirit will transform your mind so that you please Him in all that you do and think.
