Daily devotion – From glory to glory…
2Co 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
People look to religion at times when they seek to change their lives. Seeking for a way to escape the guilt, shame and distress their current lives have brought them. Thinking that perhaps a monastic type lifestyle will change them and see them free from their troubled minds.
Some attend Church on a reasonable regularity. But they don’t read the Bible or pray or actually understand God for who He really is. That is an even sadder path that can act like an immunisation against a disease. You get a short amount of religion, just enough to keep the real truth of Christ away.
But we are not changed by a program, a practice, a discipline, or a procedure. But by a Person! We are changed by having a very real living relationship with Jesus Christ and accepting Him as our Lord and Saviour. We are changed by spending time with Him, learning about Him, receiving from Him, listening to Him, offering worship to Him.
I encourage you to stay consistently in the Bible – make sure it’s a daily feeding. Don’t neglect fellowship with God’s people the Church. You grow weaker when you are away from it and come more under the influence of the world when you neglect fellowship.
Surrender your resources to Him and instead of seeing them sift through your fingers, you will see and receive the blessing of the Lord.
The more you are with Christ, the more you will become like Him.
