Daily devotion – His yoke is easy
Jhn 17:4 “I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.
“The whole city wants You,” Jesus was told in Mark 1:37. Jesus had spent the morning in prayer, He knew the direction His Father wanted Him to minister that day – it was to be to the region of Galilee.
So Jesus, went in the opposite direction of the clamour of the crowd.
This is why you see Jesus was never accused of being busy! His enemies accused Him of being a winebibber, a glutton, demon possessed, or crazy, but never busy.
How different is this to so many people today who are just so busy, too busy! Their lives are like the hamster in the treadmill, lots of running here and there but getting nowhere just exhaustion.
Jesus moved with a paced peace and an ordered steadiness because He knew the heart of the Father.
People’s burdens and keeping up with the world, having the bareness of business is robbing your life of joy. People’s expectations will drive you crazy. Whenever the burden is not light, I KNOW I am not doing the will of my Father in Heaven.
But when my life is being directed by Him morning by morning, day by day, I find His yoke easy.
Mat 11:30 “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Are you in a ‘tither’ with the business of your day? Are you run off your feet?
First, pray and give the Lord your day, secondly, be obedient to His directing your path. Lastly, drop a gear and open your eyes to the Lord’s leading in your day.
You will never be too busy then!
