Daily devotion – serving
Mark 10: 44 “And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
The simplest way to know if you are a servant of God is by how you react when people treat you like one.
The best spiritual exercise you can look to is to serve others, because in serving, your heart is strengthened. Others might not acknowledge you. You may not be rewarded presently. But when you move into the Kingdom – when the Lord says, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of the Father,” you will do so with a large heart and a huge capacity to enjoy eternity!
If you want to lead, become a slave. It’s a paradox indeed, but it is so true!
This Sunday, seize the opportunity to put your name down to serve. The blessing you give to others will be far outweighed by the blessing you will receive in serving!
