Daily devotion – people are waiting
Acts 18:10 – “for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.”
We often get discouraged when things are difficult around us in sharing the Gospel. We at times feel as though it’s just a complete brick wall we run into. That no-one seems interested at all in hearing about Jesus Christ and what He has done for them.
But that is blatantly untrue otherwise no one, including ourselves would be following Christ. We did, we were open to hear the Gospel, we surrendered our lives to Christ and it was exactly what we had been looking for.
Paul arrives in Corinth and the place is rampant with sin. The Jewish community there were furious with Paul and were doing everything to silence him. Things had become especially dangerous, and Paul was contemplating about leaving the city. But the Lord came to him and gave him the assurance that he needed.
The Lord will come and speak to us when we need Him the most. First thing He did was to tell Paul not to fear. Obviously, Paul had been fearing otherwise why the message from God.
But then He encourages Paul to continue to speak the Gospel adding that He was with Him in this mission.
Why? Because there were people in Corinth just like you and I and those we need to share the Gospel with, who are ready to receive Christ.
Don’t be put off by the lies of the enemy, instead keep on sharing God’s precious message, because there is someone desperately ready to follow Christ.
“….for I have many people in this city……”
