Daily devotion – the victorious walk

Pastor Keith   -

Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

A great lesson I have learned as I have grown in both years and relationship with my Lord is for me to constantly rely on the Holy Spirit. I need to remember that Jesus Christ dwells in me by His Holy Spirit which I received the moment I was born again.

Our bodies are the dwelling place of the third part of the trinity. But why do we not rely on Him as we should? We do not realize just how strong our adversary the devil is at times. Some even doubt in such moments if God is really going to help them. Many fall into the trap of trying to do it all by themselves.

We are to ask the Holy Spirit to be in charge of our lives. We should tell Him how weak, helpless, unstable and unreliable we each are.

It is vitally important that e stand aside and let God take over in all our choices and decisions. We know that the Holy Spirit prays for us – Romans 8:26 – and what a comfort that is to all of us in our weakness.

A victorious Christian is one who, in spite of worries, inner turmoil, and tensions, is confident that God is in control and will be victorious in the end.

Whatever our difficulties, whatever our storms, we each must remember, as Corrie ten Boom used to say, “Jesus is Victor!”
