Coming Events –– As we gather as the Body of Christ today for communion, it is a great time for parents to instruct on the full meaning of the Lord’s Supper to the little ones. In addition, let us examine ourselves and remember our Lord on this holy occasion and thank Him for His great sacrifice of love for each of us. Our Church Spring Clean morning is next Saturday the 12th November starting at 8:00am. We will be serving the Lord together with joy by cleaning windows, skirting boards, windowsills, air con filters, to sharpening pencils – we have a job for all skills and endeavours. Bring old clothes, gloves, the joy of serving Christ and an appetite for this time to serve the Lord. For those coming, please fill in our sign-up sheet on the information desk please! We are making plans for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services this year. If you are available to serve at either of those times, please give your details to our Deacon Thomas Woodage This will allow us to know what we will be able to provide in a shortened service. Operation Christmas Child – this is the last Sunday for the boxes to be brought in – thank you. 49 days til Christmas!

From the Pastor’s Desk – I read the papers each day, both local, national and international. The same problems in each nation. The same heartaches in each community. Governments are all concerned about inflation, energy supply costs and climate change. Meanwhile, immorality keeps spiking and reaching new areas of perversion. Christianity, and the family structure are under fire. What’s the problem and what’s the solution? The problem remember is sin. We live in a fallen world that is being run into the ground by our adversary the devil. The solution is Jesus Christ, who came to save us from our sins. Each day you and I don’t have to fret for new research, scramble for the latest information or program. No, we simply need turn our hearts to Christ. To come to the place of the Cross where the victory over all the problems of the world was won, once and for all. Let us not be seduced by the philosophy or anxiousness of the world. Let us come to Christ and there we WILL find peace and rest for our souls and an end to our labours! Matthew 11:28 -30.

Helen’s Heart Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29. The book of James talks of the tongue being only a small member of the body, yet it can cause a lot of damage – With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. James 3:9. A person with a criticizing tongue can have an evil effect on others as the source in verse 15 James explains is the devil. So let us agree with Solomon in Proverbs 21 and ask God to guard our mouth so as not to cause damage.
