From the Pastor’s Desk – Some people worked from 7:00 am through to midday yesterday with a passion and love for God that was a blessing to see. To be able to work for the Lord is a blessing that God gives to us. Even Adam in the Garden of Eden, “Then the Lord took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” – Genesis 2:15. The Bible declares “we are labourers together with God.” – 1 Cor 3:9. Work is not a curse; it’s an opportunity to use our abilities and opportunities in cooperating with God and being faithful stewards of His creation. After man sinned, work became toil but that was not God’s intention. We all have different abilities and opportunities, and we must discover what God wants us to do with our lives in this world, for the good of others and the glory of God! Someday, we want to be able to stand before God and say with Jesus, “I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work You have given me to do.” – John 17:4. God seeks those for whom He can display His strength and bring glory to Him. Let us each be available for Him to use us as He wishes. For we are created to bring Him glory in everything we do. Col 3:17 “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Helen’s Heart Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise – Psalm 100:4 Often we can find ourselves in our devotions to the Lord, racing through a list of requests because we are ‘time poor’. But in doing this our relationship with God wanes. A way to combat this is to keep a prayer journal recording of answered prayers and blessings from the Lord. As you write down the things you are grateful for, your attitude will change to a time of reflecting and enjoying His blessings and presence. O come let us worship Him – Psalm 95:6
