Daily devotion – He gives us everything

Pastor Keith   -

Rom 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also.

Paul is talking about Abraham in this passage telling us that Abraham is not only the father of the circumcised Jew but also the uncircumcised Gentile because he was pronounced righteous before his circumcision. Thus, circumcision did not ‘confer’ righteousness. It ‘confirmed’ righteousness.

Likewise in baptism, it does not save you if you don’t believe in your heart that the work is done, the price is already paid for your sin. The basis of everything we enjoy is predicated on what God has done for us and how He looks on us through the lens of His Son Jesus Christ.

You get baptized to go on record externally, declaring what you know is already true internally.

I come to communion because I want to do outwardly what I am thankful for inwardly.

I have devotions not to earn God’s favour, but because He has already shown me such favour.

We do not need to try to give God a reason to bless you.

This week enjoy an intimate relationship with Christ, and enjoy the very grace and blessings of God which we can’t earn nor deserve but still are given!
