Christmas is about God company and He is good company!

Mat 1:23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

We pick and choose those we wish to spend time with don’t we? To vacation with or simply to have a meal together. We are careful about who we spend time with so as not to make ourselves uncomfortable. It’s not easy to be around people you have no connection with.

I am always amazed each Christmas that God has chosen to not only visit with us, but to also desire our fellowship with Him!

God desires so much to be with us that He even gave Himself a name for this – Immanuel!

It means the perpetual presence of Christ! That to me is a life changing matter. God is always near us and always for us. We may be negligent in our thinking about Him but He will never forget us.

The Bible tells us we are forever on His mind and in His plans. This is what the title “Immanuel” means.

It’s not just that God made us.
Nor is it that God thinks of us.
And it’s not just that God is above us.

No, it is God is with us! God is with us at our homes, in our classroom, at our worksite, in the kitchen or at the beach. God Himself breathed our air and He walked on this planet, on the same ground our feet trample.

Now more than ever, we need this message of Christmas as we find ourselves living in an anxious world bereft of grace.

Christmas is all about Christ our Saviour. Have you at this time paused from the hurry and scurry to take time to think of the amazement that God desires to be with us?

That little manger in a cave come stable in Bethlehem invites each one of us to share in God’s eternal companionship.

Can you use some Christ presence this Christmas? I know I can! Enjoy the company of the Son of God this Christmas for He loves to spend Christmas with you.
