Daily devotion – don’t be in such a hurry…

Pastor Keith   -

Gal 4:4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law….

The season of Christmas is filling the air. Shops are picking up their business. People seem to be rushing here and there to do their last-minute preparations. Everyone is in a hurry, and this anxiety continues to grow ever increasing right up to Christmas Eve.

One of the greatest lessons I have learnt from the Lord is that God is ‘never in a hurry!’ He is never in a panic, caught short by something popping up or not having the time to do all He has planned.

I learnt early on in my walk with Christ, especially as a husband and a father, to never make a hurried decision. Hurried decisions hurt, they fail, and 99.9% recurring, they are the wrong decision!

King Solomon wrote – Ecc 3:1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.. Ecc 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time.

God is omniscient which means He knows everything that is and can be known. Therefore there is no rhyme nor reason for God to be in a hurry ever.

Our part is to learn to be patient and trust in God’s timing!

Panic, anxiousness, worry, are all emotions and conditions that are often brought on by hurrying and not trusting in God’s timing.

In the days leading up to Christmas….give all your decisions to the Lord, place your cares and concerns in His hands and don’t be in a hurry.

Christ came to bring us peace!
