Daily devotion – unnoticed

Pastor Keith   -

So the shepherds hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger – Luke 2:16

Christmas 2000 years ago in the hands of Hollywood would have been a far different scene would it not? God tearing open the Heavens and slowly descending to earth in majesty and power on that first Christ night with the music powerfully reaching a crescendo.

But God had other plans – His plans. Instead, on that quiet chilled evening in Bethlehem, a very young virgin mother laid her firstborn into an animal’s feed trough called a manger.

God works in amazing and mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.

The birth of the Messiah, Jesus the Christ – the Son of God, our Saviour – went unnoticed by the vast majority of the world that first Christmas eve. But no event in human history was more significant to a fallen and lost world dying in sin.

This Christmas may Christ’s birth – and all that it means – never go unnoticed in our lives!

Merry Christmas from Helen and myself.
