Time to serve Him….
Coming Events –– This morning we are back in the Gospel of John. We are also back with our evening and mid-week services. Tonight, Ps Keith answers the question of why is there going to be what the Bible calls “The Great Tribulation”, what is its purpose? That’s 6:00pm tonight! Also join us Wednesday at 7:00 pm as we gather for prayer and further overview of our teaching through John’s Gospel chapter 13 this week. We will be having the blessing of a baby dedication this morning! Our first for 2023! Each of us God has called to serve in His body the Church. Fill in our Connection Card and begin the New Year with being a blessing to the Church here in Secret Harbour by becoming part of the servant team. Plans are well underway for our tour to Israel. The sign-up sheet is at the information desk. If you have any questions, see one of the Pastors or our Elders and they will help you out. Costs are approximate at the moment due to the time yet of our departure. Calvary Youth is back on the 3rd February, and Calvary Young Adults kicks off in 2023 on the 18th February. We will be having a baptism service in February at Secret Harbour beach so there is still to time to register. Ps Israel and Ps Marlon will recommence their series in 1 Samuel and the book of Acts accordingly, from January 22.
From the Pastor’s Desk Pro 16:3 Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed. Many people have set New Year resolutions for 2023. Usually they are to lose weight, quit bad habits and other such matters. But for us as followers of Christ we can set some special goals for this new year. For example – To read the Bible from cover to cover. To commit to serving here at CCSH. To become part of the 24/7 prayer team. To be in fellowship far more than last year. To commit our resources to the extension of God’s kingdom. To get to know more people here at CCSH. To save and plan for the Holy Land trip. Time is one of the most precious commodities that our Lord has given us. Let us use the time He has provided us for His glory and in service to Him this 2023. The psalmist tells us – Psa 37:4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. This does not mean that God will give you whatever you ask to consume upon your own selfishness. What it does mean is that as our hearts are filled with the desire to please God, He will certainly bring all those things to pass so that His will is lived out in your life. As we take delight in Him to please Him, He pours out His blessings in and on our lives! Let us all make 2023 count for the glory of God!
Helen’s Heart She has done what she could – Mark 14:8 The enemy will tell us that what we do for the Lord is insignificant and counts for nothing. We may not be called for great things in our mind, but we can do the little things; the quiet things; the mundane things – whatever we can. When we do this with an attitude of love and devotion as with Mary of Bethany, God calls it good and that counts for much!
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Let us be praying for the CC Nasinu and for peace in Fiji at this time!
Grace Giving – We have a container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving, or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Deu 14:22“You must set aside a tithe of your crops—one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year.Deu 14:23 Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship—the place the LORD your God chooses for his name to be honored—and eat it there in his presence. This applies to your tithes of grain, new wine, olive oil, and the firstborn males of your flocks and herds. Doing this will teach you always to fear the LORD your God.
