From the Pastor’s Desk Another year has passed. This week another Sunday. Tomorrow a new day. With each year and each day passing we all grow older; we face new battles and discover new joys. As I read through the Bible books I see ordinary people, being used by God. They are from all walks of life; some are priests or the sons of priests and some are shepherds. Some are women raised to achieve mighty works in times of crisis. Some are old and some very young like little Samuel. Their lives have come and gone but we have the blessing of being able to read about their lives and how God used them. Maybe you are like me as you read their stories, you compare your life, the time in which you live with theirs. Sometimes it seems as though our lives are worlds apart. But in reality, the Bible is filled with people of flesh and blood just like you and I. Some of them even initially resisted being used by God. Who could forget Jonah? But still God chose to use each one of them for a specific purpose. The Bible tells us that God has chosen each of us to be used by Him, for particular tasks. 1Pe 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Your task today is to discover what it is that God seeks to use you for. Your life has a purpose today!
Helen’s Heart Your God has commanded you strength – Psalm 68:28 Evermore is the need for Christians who will stand strong in their convictions, to against the status quo. Our country is moving fast down the path of tolerance and acceptance. “This lifestyle is fine as long as it does not affect me, they need the same rights as everyone else” is their cry. Oh, how we need in our schools, offices, factories, lunchrooms, boardrooms, universities – men and women, young people of God to speak the things of God, to stand firm and strong.
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – May you be praying for more doors to open for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout all of Fiji!
Grace Giving – We have a container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving, or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Deu 14:22“You must set aside a tithe of your crops—one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year.Deu 14:23 Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship—the place the LORD your God chooses for his name to be honored—and eat it there in his presence. This applies to your tithes of grain, new wine, olive oil, and the firstborn males of your flocks and herds. Doing this will teach you always to fear the LORD your God.
“When we reach a crossroad and don’t know which way to turn, it is wise to seek God.”
