Daily devotion – a servant of God
Exo 4:10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
The gift of serving God is often ignored or like the story gave on the talents, buried somewhere unused. Just as our bodies need exercise to be strong physically, our faith needs exercise if we are to be strong spiritually.
It has often been said that many rivers flow into the Dead Sea, but no river flows out of it. Which is why nothing grows in the Dead Sea. Without an outlet it remains the Dead Sea!
The same can also be true with us. If we keep our faith to ourselves, ‘silent Christians’, if we never allow our faith to flow through us to enrich others, and if it has no outlet, then we will find ourselves like the Dead Sea – lifeless and spiritually dead.
God wants to use you right where you are. Every day you probably come into contact with people who will never enter a church or talk with a pastor or open a Bible. You may be the very bridge God uses to bring them to Jesus Christ like the disciple Andrew often did.
Anyone can be a servant, no matter how inadequate he or she may feel.
Moses protested that he could not speak for God because he had a speech impediment.
This week make it a decision to be a servant each day for Christ and especially in the Church that God has planted you.
