Daily devotion – If My people…..

Pastor Keith   -

2Ch 7:14 “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Wednesday the 11th January we commenced our most important gathering together as Christ’s Church to pray.

It is our praying as believers that makes us stand out in this fallen world!

At the time this Scripture of promise was given, God was encouraging King Solomon that if judgement fell upon God’s people, they need only turn to Him in earnest repentance and humility,  and they would find forgiveness and restoration!

How often do we as Christians needlessly remain in our sinful habits and struggle in our lives with the fallout of our selfish ways.

Yes, the Church gathers to seek God’s wisdom, His blessing and guidance. But let us also realize that our gathering together is where we can come and fall on our faces before God and ask for His forgiveness for our indifferent and foolish ways.

Repentance is not just a one off for someone to come to salvation. It’s a lifestyle that realizes we so often fall short of God’s will and need Him to help us get back on track again.

A Church that gathers in holy repentance is a Church that God will forgive and bless!

I encourage you this year 2023, to become a person of prayer, a person also who prays with the Church, and a person who intercedes on behalf of the Church when we become wayward and wander.

Each Wednesday, the Lord God Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth is present in the very midst of His people gathering to pray.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be a servant of God in prayer!

You will do more on your knees for God than you will ever by all your other endeavours no matter how much effort you put into them.
