Daily devotion – looking back and looking ahead
1Co 1: 9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
As we head into a New Year, we can walk in it with complete confidence. Not in ourselves but in our faithful and loving God.
Take a look in your rear vision mirror and cast you mind back to 2022, and there you will see God’s loving faithfulness to you consistently. We can look back at struggles we had, surprises that hit us and we can see God’s hand always watching over us and bringing us through to the end.
We made it out of 2022 and we will make it through 2023 because God is with us.
He is faithful – it means one who can be relied upon and trusted!
This New Year, His faithfulness will be with us once again, in every step of this new venture. It is with excitement then that we can walk in these new days ahead of us. That no matter what jumps up at us, God will sort it out, He will help us to prevail!
Therefore, do not live in fear or anxiousness, but in the joy and wonderment of God’s grace, for our life is an adventure that is in safe hands – His hands.
Finally, let us as we look back, give thanks for God’s faithfulness to us in the past year 2022, and now in anticipation let us give thanks also for God’s faithfulness that will be revealed to us in our future.
