Daily devotion – 66 books and one real author

Pastor Keith   -

Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

The Bible took over 1600 years to write. With more than 30 writers acting as God’s secretaries for God wrote its 66 books.

Over those 1600 years, each of these individual writers wrote the same message, and so unified is the precious message that the 66 books actually comprise one actual book.

Within its pages, the sins of the small and the great are detailed without any cover ups. The frail weaknesses of our human nature are revealed, warts and all. Life is presented as it actually is found.

The message in every book is to speak to us of one theme – the point of each being the message of Jesus Christ. The Bible is primarily concerned with the story of God’s gracious redemption of sinful humanity through the death and sacrifice of God’s only Son Jesus Christ.

Why won’t we read it and believe it?

Our life depends upon it!

Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward.
