Daily devotion – pray
Jas 5:17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.
Jas 5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
A Church is only as impactful as it is prayerful.
God will bless Elijah and send rain on Israel as He indeed did, but Elijah must pray for it! If the chosen nation is to prosper, Samuel must plead for it!
If the Jews are to be delivered, Daniel must intercede.
God will bless Paul, and the nations shall be converted, but Paul must pray….. “Let me have your prayers, and I can do anything!
Let me be without my people’s prayers, and I can do nothing!”
My prayer is that before things get even more extreme than they are now, we at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour, will have become what God desires us to be – a people of prayer.
This week, cast aside the hinderances that raise themselves up before you, cast them all before the feet of Him whose hand spans the universe.
From today, be a person who prays about everything, prays for the impossible, prays for God’s blessing, prays for your loved one’s salvation…..and the rain will fall on dry and dusty ground.
Pray constantly, without ceasing, pray believing, without doubting.
Enjoy the intimacy of prayer with the Lord God Almighty, our Saviour and Lord.
