Daily devotion – simply amazing

Pastor Keith   -

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

Sitting in my office preparing for Wednesday night’s prayer and bible study, I was struck with the awe of Jesus words and commandments in John 16.

I think we often as His followers simply forget the privilege of knowing Jesus Christ the Son of God, Creator of Heaven and Earth. We don’t compute just as the disciples did on the eve of Jesus arrest, the power and sovereign rule of Almighty God, and what it means for each of us!

We miss seeing His holiness, His majesty and we foolishly often take all that God is and what He has done for us, with a grain of salt.

As I read God’s Word and take special note of what Jesus commanded and spoke, living this life here now on this planet takes on a completely different dimension.

The psalmist got it right when He said, The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
2 Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line has gone out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world. – Psalm 19

As followers of Christ, we get the privilege of gathering in His name in the Church He created and heads.

We get the privilege of being allowed to worship Him.

We get the privilege to pray to Him and He hears and answers our prayers.

We get the privilege of not receiving the judgment we deserve but instead He gives us undeserved grace.

We get the privilege to serve Him and identify with Him.

We get the privilege of eternal life.

We get the privilege of spending eternity with Him in glory in Heaven!

“Amazing grace how sweet the sound, I once was lost but now am found…”
