Daily devotion – the right side of the boat
Jhn 21:5 Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.”
Jhn 21:6 And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.
Heard the saying an inch is as good as a mile? How many times have I been so close to the Lord’s blessing but I failed to take the next step? I failed to heed the prompting of the Holy Spirit?
Usually, we stop short out of fear. Fear of ridicule, fear of being made to look foolish.
But when Jesus takes charge, failure is turned into ultimate success. The difference may be just the width of the boat, as we read in our text today.
We never know how close we are to victory, so we need to admit our failure and obey what God tells us to do. He never fails.
This week, listen intently to the Lord, give Him the day before your feet hit the ground. Don’t miss the blessing, instead trust in the Lord’s leading. He knows the future and living this way gives God the reigns, the rudder, the wheel of our life and He can steer it as He wishes.
The Lord bless you this week and may your net be overflowing as was Peters.
