From the Pastor’s Desk. Next Sunday is Palm Sunday, the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem as the people placed palms and items of clothing down before Him shouting “Hosannah, Hosannah..” Each time I travel to Jerusalem as we walk down from the Mount of Olives following Jesus steps, I pick up some of the small stones on the way. You will remember the religious leaders urged Jesus to quiet the crowd that was exalting Him publicly. Jesus’ response was amazing! Luke 19:40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. There are times when perhaps you don’t ‘feel like’ worshipping the Lord when we gather. You have had a tough week, you’re in a rebellious mood or you are just tired. Our Lord is always worthy of all praise and honour. We never want to have our personal worship of our Saviour replaced by some rocks! Worship is NOT predicated on moods, our weariness or how we feel. Whatever mood or emotion you are in, the moment you choose to worship Christ, you are doing what you were created for! We have no excuse for standing silently as statues void of giving thanks. Even stones have the ability to worship Jesus. Today, give Him the glory and honour due His name for He is worthy!
Helen’s Heart Be still, my daughter – Ruth 3:18 Throughout the book of Ruth, God speaks to her heart, not to fear God, that He will bless her and deal kindly with her. These words of comfort gave her peace and established her. When I struggle, or am anxious, I do well to be ‘still’ and rest in Jesus ‘comfort. If you are unsettled, worried, these words can be just as encouraging as you are a daughter of the heavenly Father.
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Pray for Church registration in Fiji as it takes another step forward this. week Pray for the right selection of land for building. For an Australian visa approval for Charles’s wife Tina so she can visit her ill mother in Melbourne. Lastly please pray for their daughter Elisabeth’s health!
