Daily devotion – life
Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
King David wrote, Psalm 5:3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.
Each morning as I wake, I give thanks to God for life itself! Without God’s breathe in my life, I would simply be the dust of the earth and nothing more.
But the Bible tells me that when He created us, God made us different to every other living being! Gen 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Gen 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
The image of God in men and women has been marred by sin – Ephesians 4:18,19., but through faith in Jesus Christ and submission to the work of the Holy Spirit, we can now as believers have the divine nature of God renewed in us.
Life is the blessing of God which is why Satan works so hard at trying to convince us that our lives are not worth living – wrong!
We each are given life to enjoy a relationship with the Creator of Heaven and Earth, to worship Him, to serve Him and to know we each have a purpose in His great plan.
Maybe your day is not travelling well at the moment. Let us be reminded that with each breath we breathe, we reveal the love and majesty of God.
This is why when Jesus came, He said these words – John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
I pray God’s Word will speak to your heart today and you will, like David, great God every morning and with every breath give God praise and thanksgiving.
Walk the day in His presence, sense His leading, listen to His voice, He made you to know Him intimately. He made you in His image!
Don’t forget to do what David said, “Look up!”
