Daily devotion – Pilate

Pastor Keith   -

Luke 23:4 Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.

As we draw close to Easter, there are certain characters in the Easter story that dominate the narrative besides Jesus. We have Judas the betrayer, Peter the Denier and the one who condemned Jesus to death by crucifixion – Pontius Pilate.

The name of Pontius Pilate will stand forever as a reminder and classic example of someone who knew what was right – but failed to do it!

Pilate, caved into the wishes of the crowd and gave the official order for Jesus’ death.

It raises the question, how often do we give in to peer pressure, seek our companion’s approval, instead of the approval of God?

As we start a new week, set your course, your compass, to live for Jesus Christ no matter the pressure to go along with the crowd. This week pray to be faithful to Him and walk in His will instead of against it!

Luke 23:23 But the mob shouted louder and louder, demanding that Jesus be crucified, and their voices prevailed.
