Daily devotion – staying safe in the conflict
1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
It never ends, the constant harassment of the enemy on our lives. Satan takes no break, never relents, his pursuit and harassment of us is constant and it is wearing. He mauls us often and he comes at us from every angle and phase of living.
The bible tells us we wrestle not with flesh and blood yet so often it is through people we get much of our enemy’s attacks. Ephesians 6:12.
We must remember however that people are NOT the problem but they are simply tools in our enemies hands.
How do we cope with this constant assault on our lives?
Recognize that this attack is only because you indeed are the Lord’s child and His ownership of you, your salvation, is the very reason that Satan is against you. It’s proof you are a child of God.
Secondly, if you attempt to fight against the enemy in your own strength, weariness, fatigue and defeat will be your lot.
Therefore we bring our struggles, our wounds, to the Lord and ask Him to come to our aid, to help us in our time of need. We go to the Word of God and we receive strength and courage as we read God’s truth about our His protection over us and the victory He has already won.
Then by prayer we seek God’s comfort, His assurance and His love, as we do this He heals our wounds, reminds us we are in His care and we continue on in the power of the Holy Spirit to serving Him and honouring Him in All that we do!
We do this each and every day!
