Daily devotion – the kingdom of God
Things in our world just don’t happen! Events are not just accidental, for there is a definite plan of history and everything has been pre-arranged from the beginning.
God, who ‘sees the end from the beginning’ has a divine purpose in it all and He know ‘the times and the seasons’.
God knows when to bless Israel and when not to bless her.
The coming of His Son Jesus Christ into our world was planned to the detail.
You and I today need to know that there is a purpose in history, and what is now happening in Europe, the USA, the U.K. and Australia is not accidental. The Church at the moment and as always, the nation Israel, are at the centre of God’s plan.
But the key to the history of the world is the kingdom of God! What God is permitting in the Church and in the world is related to His great purpose for His own Church, Israel and the kingdom.
Why do I say all this? Because now we are not to be stumbled when we see surprising things happening in the world. With Bible in hand, we need to instead be asking, “What is the relevance of this event to the kingdom of God?”
Before the Lord moved on Sodom and Gomorrah, you will remember God spoke to Abraham of what was going to happen shortly because Abraham was the friend of God.
This was the very mindset that young Daniel had when he was in Babylon. Daniel had studied the Scriptures and he knew why events had occurred and he also knew what was coming next.
Dan 9:2 in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the LORD through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
But Daniel did not just sit around waiting and watching to see what happened. No Daniel got himself involved in the kingdom of God – how?
Dan 9:3 Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.
Daniel prayed…..
With the events in the Ukraine, China, Russia and Israel, and the falling away of our own nation Australia from the Lord, God calls us to prayer.
We need to be in repentance for our nation, but we also need to be seeking God as to what God is teaching us right now with the pieces of the worlds puzzle being placed into position before the Rapture of the Church, the Great Tribulation, and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
We are NOT spectators, we are working pieces in the kingdom of God placed here now in time for a purpose.
