Daily devotion – a garden of obedience

Pastor Keith   -

Luke 22: 39 Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. 40 When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed,

This coming Wednesday evening at 7:00pm we meet in our Church olive garden. We will look at the Scriptures that tell the story that dark night when Jesus and His disciples entered a lonely garden called Gethsemane.

We remember human history began in a garden, one called Eden, but so too did sin enter humanity here. For those who accept Christ’s death and Resurrection and His forgiveness for them, our whole story will reach its crescendo in a “garden city”, where there will be no sin…Revelation 21:1-22:7.

Adam rebelled in the Garden of Eden and brought sin and death to all of us. But Jesus Christ, Paul calls the “Last Adam,” submitted to His Father in the Garden of Gethsemane and brought life and salvation for all who will believe.

1Co 15:45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

This Wednesday evening as we gather in our very own olive garden here at CCSH, may we bring hearts full of obedience too as did our Lord in Gethsemane.

May the only will guiding our life and all its decisions be our Father in heavens!

This Wednesday you can lay your life out before God and fully hand it over to Him in everything. If you do that you can know that God’s power and blessing will forever guide and strengthen you in all that He directs you to do.
