Daily devotion – home!
2Ti 2:2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
Today, because we have travelled to preside over a wedding service, will not be in our home Church Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour. Some people sadly, can take or leave whether they miss a Church service or not. Others, have no home fellowship as such and cruise from Church to Church.
But for Helen and I, God has placed us at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour as the place He desires us to serve and worship him seriously.
None of the following can occur if you are not solidly based in a home fellowship:
Ephesians 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
Today, we because we are far from our home fellowship, we will be visiting another fellowship. But as nice and wonderful that Church may be, it will not be like Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour.
God desires for all of us to have a place where we can learn to love the saints that are part of that fellowship. This takes time and commitment. God desires us to be part of a Church where we each can provide faithful service to Him and to the saints who attend that congregation.
Maybe you are currently drifting, may I suggest to you after prayer, that you seek God’s direction to a Church where you can be faithful and serve. That you can be a person, a family, that can be countered on. Once God has lead you in this matter, put some decent roots down and get to serving both the Lord and the saints.
Next Sunday when we are back home, that service will be something special again for us as we gather again with the saints God has placed us to be part of.
