This Week at Calvary – This morning we have the wonderful privilege of gathering together around the Lord’s table for Holy Communion. A time of thanksgiving and remembering our precious Lord and also looking ahead to the day we will eat with Him in glory! Next Sunday is Mother’s Day, as such there will be no Sunday evening service for that night only to allow families appropriate time to spend with family for Mother’s Day.

From the Pastors Desk (Joshua 1:12-18)
When the children of Israel left Egypt and now under the leadership of Joshua are to cross the Jordan into the Promised Land, some of the tribes (Reuben, Gad and half of Manasseh) wanted to stay on the Egyptian side of the river. They were content, comfortable and ready to settle. But settling is not what God wanted! This year 2023, like the children of Israel, God wants us to be stretched, to enter and take new promises, conquer walled cities and giants that previously have stopped or frightened your growth in the things of the Lord. We are not home yet, ahead of us lay challenges that God wants to use to stretch our lives, to march into and know His power, His glory and might, like never before. Let us today, start by breaking camp, old habits, casting aside things that are weighing us down and enter the battle march. Grab your sword, God’s Word, sharpen it and use it and finally listen for the Captain of the Hosts commands and follow every one of them to the word. God is moving…..we need to move with Him in step!

Helen’s Heart
The Lord is my Shepherd…He leads me beside quiet waters – Psalm 23:1,2.
So often at the end of a day this peaceful scene is what I need. How refreshing is the still water of the Word at days end. Sometimes more than this our loving Shepherd has stopped the rushing streams of life and allowed me through physical ailment, to be still and allow order back into my life, to refresh and strengthen me. Find rest O my soul, in God alone – Psalm 62:5

Prayer – Join us as we pray each Sunday morning at 9:45 for the Lord’s blessing and protection over all our services and His ministries here at CCSH. As importantly, make a habit of joining with us each Wednesday evening at 7:00pm, after our new series on “Marriage God’s Way”.

Short Sayings
“A man of God is not prepared to enjoy success till he has tasted defeat” – C.H. Spurgeon

Israel Tour Group
You can proceed to look at the most appropriate airfares to suit your individual budgets now that the tour dates a locked in. You need to be ready for the following dates – 10th January – 18th January. Some wishing to arrive earlier can do so and Pilgrim Tours can assist with adding extra nights’ accommodation should you so desire. Travel insurance is required. It would be wise to purchase air fares that can be cancelled/refunded, if necessary, in relation to the Middle East political system possibly changing. Airlines most suited – Emirates and Turkish airlines at the moment.
